Why not focus on adding in?.. con't

I decided to add this smoothie ( read the first part of this blog here) to my day when I read Medical Medium by Anthony Williams.

In this book he mentions how many of us, women predominantly, are developing a fatty type liver (usually seen in alcoholics) as a result from being under constant stress. Our liver is literally clogged and dysfunctional- in all of its functions! The constant stress cycle we live in is causing us to stay in "Fight, Flight or Freeze" for the majority of our lives and the result is that our organs are suffering. Our liver is slowly shutting down and dysfunctional! This is crazy!

And I, just like you, are not immune to this.

This will affect our thryoid ( ummmm... how many of us have been diagnosed with some sort of Thyroid issue?? ), our adrenals ( so many women are affected by burnout and chronic fatigue), our heart and cardiovascular system( heart palpitations and heart conditions are on a rise in women) , Spleen (immune system) pancreas .. and the list goes on. Emotionally you feel more agitated, short, on-edge all the time. You are not as resourceful when it comes to challenges and conflicts in your life, there is an anxiousness in the background- all the time and an overwhelming feeling of defeat is always present. Did I mention that you feel drained and tired all the time? I am breaking out of this fog myself and although it is slow, I am moving in a much better and healthier direction.

I highly recommend reading this book as he goes in great detail but this summed up the information that I felt was relatable enough to me and to what I was living that I felt it was a Hell Yesssss for me to make changes that could help my overall health.

So I started. Get the recipe here.

I added it in.

I've been doing it daily with an awareness that it will take time ( you guessed it, there is no magic pill, no "one thing", start by accepting that if you haven't yet) and that it took a very long time for it to get this way. Also, I know I can't just stop and drop everything to make grandiose changes so choosing one thing at a time helps me build the habits I want to be consistent with. Then I choose the next. And the Next.

My life is set up in a way that requires a lot of energy, goes many different directions and I want to be able to show up with love, joy, enthusiasm and enough patience to care for the person that is in front of me- authentically and genuinely. It got to a point for a while that this was not easy for me, I wasn't patient with the people around me ( felt annoyed and frustrated a lot) and definitely was not patient or kind with me, with Lisa.

The foods you choose to fuel your body do make a difference and will impact your bottom line when it comes to creating your incredible masterpiece. I am not talking about your jean size or the number on the scale ( although those will also be affected by your choices), I am talking about the way you think, feel and choose to show up in the world. The way you show up for yourself.

You are so worth it!

Who do you need to become? What kind of strength, stamina, energy, vitality, health and well-being do you need in order to bring your dreams to reality? Start adding in the things that bring you closer to that goal, to that person, and see how energizing it can be when you start going through life respecting rather then abusing your body.
